We will continue to recommend that schools continue using ClassCharts as usual, except for taking registers - as ClassCharts doesn't support this with Bromcom.
Launceston College will continue taking registers on ClassCharts.
All other schools - Registers will be taken on Bromcom from the schools go-live date Bromcom support link for taking registers.
Yes, staff can book webinars, or carry out self paced training online, please visit our training pages for full details. Note access to these resources will be for the duration of our Bromcom contract, not just during onboarding.
Some schools are also offering additional training on top of this, please check in with your IT department if you feel you need additional support.

No - SIMS/Arbor do not allow this, as our contract will have expired, but it's not required as the bulk of our data will be migrated across to Bromcom.
Please visit the 'applications' page to check if your app is listed, if it is not, please fill out this form.
Yes, please see these following documents - SIMS migration scope & Arbor migration scope
In short, the key things not migrated are:
User defined fields - custom fields that you may have created on the staff or students record - note we are bulk exporting and importing these
Linked documents that are stored on the student record - note we are looking to download these in bulk so they can be accessed
Arbor and SIMS - Non statutory assessment data, including any marksheets/ templates created - please see this guidance on how to export marksheets from SIMS
Reports - any custom reports that have been created - note that these can be created on the demo bromcom sites and exported ready to be imported when we have the full bromcom system in place
Cover - any staff cover arrangements - note these will be exported for archiving purposes
ARBOR - Student photos do NOT migrate - note these can be bulk imported if needed
ARBOR - User defined fields DO migrate
Schools currently using SIMS: Schools have both options. The common approach is to start an exam season in SIMS and continue administering it in SIMS until the live data migration, at which point the ongoing exam season can seamlessly transition to Bromcom. All data necessary to manage an ongoing exam season, including entries, schedules, seating plans, and access arrangements, is transferred as part of Bromcom's comprehensive SQL .BAK migration, along with historical results. This ensures continuity and allows schools to manage any adjustments or results processing directly within Bromcom post go-live. Results can also be received directly into Bromcom, reducing disruption and enabling a smooth transition during active exam seasons.
Schools currently using Arbor: Ongoing exam series should ideally be completed in Arbor before migration. New exam series (akin to seasons) are best created directly in Bromcom, with the go-live migration ideally scheduled outside of a busy exams period. Any live running exam series at the point of go-live will need to be re-entered into Bromcom to make amendments and process results or else continue to be managed in Arbor. Once a result file is available, it can easily be added to Bromcom results. The only prerequisite is to ensure that the necessary basedata has been imported before adding the results. Bromcom’s MIS will automatically generate the results associated with the candidates/students.
Bromcom’s implementation team provides support to ensure schools can transition smoothly and manage their exam requirements effectively.
For schools transitioning from SIMS or Arbor, the timetable is commonly built on the existing platform during the implementation phase, applied there, and then migrated to Bromcom as part of the final switchover. Bromcom also integrates seamlessly with popular timetable design tools such as Nova-T, Timetabler, and Edval, enabling schools to continue using their preferred tools directly with Bromcom. It is common for this approach to continue during the first year, with schools transitioning to Bromcom’s timetable design tool from year two onward for enhanced integration and functionality.
Depending on the timing of the migration and timetable construction, the timetable can also be developed directly within Bromcom once live. Staff can familiarise themselves with Bromcom’s tools during the pre-live stage using access to the test migration, enabling them to transition efficiently and be operational immediately following the final live migration.
This approach provides flexibility for schools to manage exams and timetables during the implementation phase, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations and a seamless transition to Bromcom’s platform.
